Why comment flows need branches One straight line can’t answer real comments.

Price questions, “love this”, spam, people who never reply. By hand you type the same words all night. A tool with one rule sends the same reply to everyone, spam included.

The same answer, typed all night.

Every “price?” is a new chat and the same sentence, one at a time.

One rule answers everyone.

The spam gets your reply too, right under your post.

Then nothing happens.

They saw the price and went quiet. Nobody followed up.

Flow builder nodes Every node does one job.
Together they answer anyone.

Four groups: Triggers, Logic, Actions and Tags. Drag a node onto the canvas, set it up, connect it. Pick one to see what you set and what people see.

MenuClick or drag a node onto the canvas

Triggers

New Comment

Starts a flow when someone comments on your Facebook Page or Instagram posts.

What you set

Post
Every post on the page, or one post you pick
Trigger once per user
Each person can start this flow once

Good to know

  • The next node is always a Condition: that’s where you set the keywords.
  • Comments under your Facebook and Instagram ads start it too.
  • Comments your page posts itself never start a flow, so AFP.MONSTER never answers its own replies.
Read it in the docs

New Message

Starts a flow when someone sends your page a DM on Messenger or Instagram.

What you set

Trigger once per user
Each person can start this flow once

Good to know

  • Any DM with text starts it, also the ones that land in Requests. The Condition after it decides who gets an answer.
  • A DM with only a photo or a sticker doesn’t start anything.
  • Comment nodes aren’t available here: a DM has no comment to reply to or hide.
Read it in the docs

Logic

Condition

Reads the comment or DM and sends it down Match or No Match.

What you set

Match type
A keyword list, contains a word, exact text, or any message
Keyword list
One saved list, used in as many flows as you like
Reversed
Matches the comments without your keywords
Filter by
Comments with links, images or GIFs go to No Match
Wait for a reply
Pauses here until they answer, then checks their answer

Good to know

  • Edit a keyword list once and every flow that uses it changes.
  • Leave No Match with nothing after it and those comments get nothing: the run ends there.
  • A Condition can’t lead straight into another Condition. Put all the words in one list.
Read it in the docs

Check Subscription

Asks them to follow your Instagram account, and the flow goes on once they do.

Good to know

  • Instagram only. In a Facebook flow it shows greyed out in the palette.
  • Put your link or guide after it, so it goes to people who follow you.

Language

Branches by the language they write in.

Good to know

  • Write the reply and the DM on each branch in that language.

Randomizer

Sends each person down one arm at random, by the percentages you set.

What you set

Arms
One percentage per arm, 0 to 100, no more than 100 in total
Nothing set
Two equal arms

Good to know

  • The percentages are the split you ask for, not a promise. Check the real split in Executions.
  • Add a different tag on each arm and filter Contacts by it to see who got which.
  • An arm with nothing connected ends the run there.
Read it in the docs

Delay

Waits before the next node, from 1 second to 365 days.

What you set

Wait
1 second to 365 days. Left empty, it waits 60 seconds
Only if no reply
If they wrote back during the wait, the run ends here

Good to know

  • A DM after the first one needs them to have tapped or replied in the last 24 hours, so keep follow-up waits under that.
  • A test run stops at a Delay. Check the nodes after it with a real comment.
Read it in the docs

Actions

Send Message

Sends a DM: text, an image, a card, or text with buttons.

What you set

Message type
Text, image, card (picture, title, subtitle, buttons), or text with buttons
Buttons
Optional: Text, Web, Call or Buy. Web opens a link, and reply buttons each get their own branch on the canvas
Names
{{fname}} and the other name variables fill in before it sends

Good to know

  • After a comment, the first DM goes as a private reply to that comment, and it’s one message.
  • More messages need them to tap a button or reply first, within 24 hours.
  • If Meta refuses the DM, the run stops at this node and the error shows in Executions.
Read it in the docs

Reply to Comment

Replies in public under the comment that started the flow.

What you set

Text
Your reply, with their name through {{fname}}

Good to know

  • Everyone reading the post sees it, so the next person knows to look in DMs.
  • Put Send Message right after it: the reply goes public, the price goes by DM.
  • Not in flows started by a DM, and not after Delete Comment.
Read it in the docs

Hide Comment

Hides the comment that started the flow. Its author can still see it.

What you set

Also block the author
Facebook only. Off on Instagram

Good to know

  • Works on Facebook and Instagram, under your ads too.
  • Put it after Reply to Comment to answer a price question privately and keep the thread tidy.
Read it in the docs

Delete Comment

Deletes the comment that started the flow.

What you set

Also block the author
Facebook only. Off on Instagram

Good to know

  • Reply to Comment and Hide Comment can’t come after it: the comment is gone.
Read it in the docs

Post Comment

Posts a new comment from your page on a post you pick.

What you set

Post
The post it comments on. Required
Text
The comment, with their name if you like

Good to know

  • It comments on the post you picked, not on the one that was commented on.
  • With no post picked, the node does nothing and the flow moves on.
  • Not in flows started by a DM.
Read it in the docs

Tags

Add Tag

Adds tags to the person’s contact, next to the tags they already have.

What you set

Tags
One or more. Create a new one right in the picker, up to 50 characters

Good to know

  • Filter Contacts by a tag to see everyone who took that branch.
  • Tags show next to the conversation in Inbox.
  • Test runs don’t change tags. A real comment does.
Read it in the docs

Remove Tag

Takes the tags you pick off the contact and leaves the rest.

What you set

Tags
The tags to remove

Good to know

  • Pair it with Add Tag to move people along: take off “waiting”, add “ordered”.
  • Tags the node doesn’t list stay on the contact.
Read it in the docs

Conditions and follow-ups They tap, reply or go quiet.
The flow knows what next.

One comment starts one run for one person. This is how a run moves through your nodes.

They tapped “Espresso”. They get the espresso offer.

Every reply button in a DM gets its own branch on the canvas. The tap sends them down the branch you built for it, and lets the flow send the next message.

Asked a question? It waits for the answer.

Turn on wait for a reply in a Condition. The run pauses until they write back, then checks what they wrote. After 7 quiet days it closes.

Already replied? No nudge.

Add a Delay and one follow-up. Set the Delay to “only if no reply”, or add a Condition on the button, and anyone who already wrote back or tapped skips it.

Commented twice? One answer.

While someone’s run is going, their next comment on that flow is skipped. Turn on Trigger once per user and they get it once, ever.

Flow templates No blank canvas.
Start from a template.

19 templates, the same on Facebook and Instagram. Or click Create from Scratch and drag the nodes yourself.

  1. 1Pick a templatePrice and delivery questions, DM welcomes and FAQ replies, a service qualifier, spam and profanity hiding. Each one is a finished flow on the canvas.
  2. 2Change the wordsPoint the Condition at your keyword list and write your reply and DM.
  3. 3Save and switch it onSave campaign writes it, Active turns it on. Edit it any time later.

Test and run history Test it before anyone sees it.
Then see every run.

Click Test and type the comment you expect. Nothing goes to Facebook or Instagram: the canvas lights up the path it took. Real runs land in the same list, with the node each one is on.

  • RunningWalking the nodes, one by one
  • Waiting for a replyUp to 7 days, then it closes
  • Waiting out a delayPicks up when the wait ends
  • CompletedReached the end of its branch
  • FailedThe error shows on the node

Flow builder questions FAQ.

Everything else is in the docs

No. You drag nodes onto the canvas, fill in their settings and connect them. Or start from one of 19 templates and change the words.

No. Every reply and DM is text you wrote in a node. AFP.MONSTER fills in their name and nothing else.

Yes, with one rule from Meta. After a comment, the first DM is one private reply to that comment. Put a button in it: once they tap it or reply, the flow can keep sending within 24 hours.

Yes. Add a Delay and one follow-up Send Message. Set the Delay to “only if no reply”, or put a Condition on the button, and anyone who already wrote back or tapped gets no nudge.

Every active flow on that page whose trigger and Condition match runs its own copy, so the person can get two DMs. Keep keyword lists apart, or switch one flow off.

They finish on the version they started. Each save is a new version, and only new comments and DMs use it.

Yes. Test runs the saved flow with a message you type. Nothing is sent and no tags change, and the canvas shows the path it took.

Yes. Copy a finished flow to another campaign or to your next client, then change the words and switch it on.

Yes, one flow per page or Instagram account, and the same 19 templates on both. The palette shows only the nodes that work there: Check Subscription, the follow check, is Instagram only, and blocking a comment’s author is Facebook only.
